John Parsons

John came “home” to the North East of Scotland back in the early eighties, that was after a spell with mind altering drugs when to borrow a phrase from a hippy era spokesperson he “turned on tuned in, and dropped out.”
John says if it had not been for an encounter with Christ that set him straight he would likely be dead.
John’s media experiences have included appearing as an extra in the movie “Local Hero,” hosting "Signposts" a gospel radio show that aired, across Russia, working as a religion correspondent for an American newspaper and more recently working as a TV Reporter for a PBS associate station in the United States.
John is an ordained Christian minister, an associate ministry of Riverside Christian Church in Banff, and is stepping out as an independent documentary film maker.
John currently contributes to two shows on Deveron FM
Americano on Deveron FM is co presented by John and Robin Wiseman:
“It’s our own unique take on contemporary American culture prepared by adding together news and reviews from across the United States, social commentary, and of course music!
Within the first hour of the show we draw deeply from a wide variety of American music genres both old and new, concentrating exclusively on a featured artist, band or soundtrack during our second hour.”
Christian Perspectives is heard on Sundays on both sides of the Atlantic it features stories to bring hope and faith mixed with music and prayers.
